To visit Warbler Woods:
Email us using the contact form to obtain permission to visit and make arrangements to get the gate code, which changes frequently. If I don’t know you, please introduce yourself and give me an approximate day and time, so that I can give you the appropriate gate code. It is best to do this close to the time you are visiting. I prefer email contact, except for last-minute plans. We are usually here during migration & I’m usually outside. I also get email on my phone, so last minute communication will work. It is necessary to get permission EACH time you visit, please!
On arrival—enter gate code into keypad and wait for the gate to open. Continue slowly down the drive to the parking area. Do not drive past here, without permission. Please park efficiently and don’t block others or our driveway. Overflow parking is along Old Wiederstein Rd., on the other side of the solid white line.
Please sign in at the Visitor Kiosk and pick up a checklist/map, which you will return upon your departure. Please make sure to do this BEFORE you leave. You can also download a checklist and map before your visit, but don’t forget to leave us a checklist of what you find.
Please try to fill out the checklist, if you are comfortable identifying the birds and try to give numbers of each species. If you see anything else exciting, let us know too and if you know the area you are in, indicate that too on exciting birds.
Please take your trash with you–we have to carry ours to the road once/week and are limited to one rolling can. Please don’t leave your trash out, since our animals will get into it.
We hope to see you soon!
